Collection of small retro vases

Collection of small retro vases

I have to say upfront that all of these vases are quite small, in fact the blue and yellow vases are what I would term ‘miniature’. But they’re all very special, especially the mint green (the colour doesn’t show up well here) Crown Devon boat vase. It may be small, but what it lacks in stature, it more than makes up for in style. It really is fantastic! The glaze is unusually smooth, and is complemented perfectly by the ultra-minimalist shape. The BEP Ware (SA) vase and the West German WC Cortendorf vases are also wonderful and look great paired together – they’re obviously not practical as vases, but every now and again you have to throw practicality out the window in favour of plain old good looks!

A great collection of striking retro ceramics (and the perfect example of what was I say earlier about the wonderful colours used in the ’50s and ’60s)!
