Noritake casserole

Noritake isn’t my favourite when it comes to dinnerware (I prefer a slightly less refined look!), but it’s easy to understand why it’s so collectible – and why people are prepared to pay the *prices that they pay for Noritake! While my personal preference might be for something a bit more naive, I can still appreciate the beauty and simplicity of Noritake designs. Plus their finish is excellent, which I think is half the reason Noritake pieces are normally in such great nick – I suppose it’s like anything in life, if you use good quality materials, your product’s going to last longer!

* The Isabella pattern was first introduced by Noritake in 1964. This Isabella vegetable tureen is for sale on chinasearch.co.uk for a crazy £60 – that’s just over R1000!

Dimensions: 22cm in diameter x 14cm tall (with lid on)

Price: R220
