Enamel roasting dish

Unbelievably the original label was still on this enamel roasting dish when I bought it! Someone had cooked with it with the label still on, but as a result of the heat from the oven the label was in rather a sorry state! I could still make out the sales pitch though (“The world’s greatest roaster”) and the maker’s name, Federal Enamel and Stamping Co. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to research it properly, but from the brief bit of info that I did read it seems that the factory closed its doors in 1952, so presumably this roaster was made before then. There are quite a few dings to the white enamel lid, but the inside of the dish is pretty clean for its years – definitely clean enough to carry on using!

A nice big roasting dish just in time for Christmas dinner!

Dimensions: 45cm long x 31cm wide x 20cm tall (with lid on)
