Retro Pineware Toaster – SOLD

Retro Pineware toaster

Retro Pineware toaster

Looking at the condition of this Pineware toaster I’d say that it’s probably only be used a handful of times. I forgot to photograph it, but it still has its original pamphlet and the inside of the toaster (which can be a bit grim) is pretty clean. I suspect that these old toasters probably aren’t quite as good as their modern counterparts, and they don’t have that button that allows you to pop your toast early (you have to do it the old fashioned way by forcing the lever), but once you’ve mastered the art of the vintage toaster, I’m sure you’ll be producing perfectly toasted bread! Plus I think it’s so worth it for the cool retro pattern – you don’t really see designs on toasters these days do you? A real pity if you ask me!

Vintage Pineware Bread Slicer – SOLD

Vintage Pineware bread slicer

I think this style of bread slicer is probably my favourite of all the designs! There’s just something so cool abut that rounded fifties shape, and this is a particularly nice example – because of their age, these bread slicers can sometimes be a bit grimy, but bar a few scratches here and there and some minor corrosion around the control dial, this Pineware bread slicer’s in great nick!

Pineware Bread Slicer – SOLD

These white bread slicers are lot less common than you’d think they’d be. For some reason the stainless steel/chrome versions, and the coloured slicers (blue, orange, yellow etc.) are far easier to find than the plain white versions – and because of that (and because you can’t really go wrong with white) I find myself quite drawn to this Pineware bread slicer! The metal’s slightly corroded in places, but on the whole it’s actually quite a clean piece.

Pineware Bread Slicer

Pineware bread slicer

Pineware bread slicer

This vintage Pineware bread slicer has the usual wear & tear that you’d expect with a slicer this age, although it’s probably still in better condition than a lot of the slicers out there. I love the fact that it’s blue – I think a kitchen’s the one place in the house that you should always have a bit of colour!

A great piece of kitchenalia in good working order.

Pineware bread slicer

This is one cool bread slicer! Not only is it a fantastic colour with a great ’50s shape, but it has a really interesting mechanism that allows you to adjust the thickness of your bread. It’s probably a little overcomplicated compared to the simple knobs that these bread slicers normally have, but it’s a great looking feature and seems to work just fine.

A fantastic piece of vintage kitchenalia in good working order.

Pineware Snackwich-cum-Waffle Maker – SOLD

Pineware snackwich-cum-waffle maker

Every time I buy one of these snackwich makers I give myself a smack on the hand – they really are a complete nightmare to clean! Sadly this one didn’t come out quite as well as they normally do (I don’t think we put our backs into it!), but the snackwich plates are still clean enough to use, despite being quite marked. The waffle plates are much cleaner – clearly whoever owned this Pineware machine didn’t have much of a sweet tooth!

Note: The metal is nice and shiny, but is quite scratched (see pics under ‘more’)
